Let us introduce ourselves, we are Brij and Rick.
Together, we are Hygge Living.

Meet Brij…

I’m Brij – I manage the marketing, lettings, tenant and property management.

In my youth I loved sports of all kind becoming National Junior Firefly sailing champion when I was 18, regularly competing in cross country national championships and captaining hockey and netball teams at school & uni amongst other things…hard to believe looking at me now I know!

After gaining a BSc Hons in Applied Biology followed by an MSc in Crop Protection I spent 30 years working for farmers in Lincolnshire providing technical advice otherwise known as agronomy. My early years in Lincolnshire were spent running the agronomy dept for a large farm management company and then finally forming my own independent consultancy business, during which time I was awarded Farmers Weekly Agronomist of the Year and was also rewarded for my services to farming by becoming a Nuffield Scholar. For a time I was the farming ‘Voice of Lincolnshire’ on Radio Lincolnshire and a regular guest writer for both ‘Farmers Weekly’ and ‘Crops’ magazines.

My journey…

My property journey began with when I was 22 when I purchased my first starter home/renovation and continued with holiday lets in Lincolnshire & Norfolk and more recently into shared accommodation properties.
I started buying properties in 2003 and over the next few years I purchased 5 properties in Lincoln. When Rick joined me in 2009, over a period of time we purchased 4 large Georgian 8 bed properties in Lincoln city centre, close to the University of Lincoln Medical School.

I enjoy creating a space where young professionals will feel happy and comfortable living. It’s my aim to create a living area that is not only safe and functional but also an enjoyable and pleasurable place to live. If I wouldn’t live there myself, I wouldn’t expect anyone else to either.

In my spare time, I love to spend time with my family and trying to be a good mum to our 2 girls. I enjoy gardening, archaeology and tracing my family history.

Next, meet Rick…

After spending 30 years in the British Army, with a background in aeronautical engineering and computing, I spent 16 years in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers before being commissioned into the Army Air Corps rising to the rank of Major.

During this time I competed at the highest level in squash and also loved doing triathlons! I joined Brij in 2009 and we began to grow our portfolio of rental properties. I carry out the repairs and maintenance on the properties and assist her when required.

In my spare time, I enjoy watching rugby and often find myself at Mattoli Woods Welford Road enjoying a Leicester Tigers game and also supporting our daughters (Dad taxi!) in their love of hockey and other sports.
We have two daughters, India, who is in her final year at Uni and Isadora (Issy) who loves animals of all kinds! We have two dogs (Bumble and Bugsy).

We will continue to prioritise personalised service and promote an inviting atmosphere in all our properties. We offer more than just rental management and maintenance services. Our goal is to help you live comfortably in Lincoln.

Please say Hi to our two girls…Bugsy (black lab) and Bumble (working cocker)! If you come across them during one of our visits they would be very grateful for a stroke and cuddle! Some of the most affectionate dogs you could hope to meet! 🐾
